The lights stayed on late Sunday night but the Princeton All-Stars weren’t complaining after beating Madison 13-0 in five innings for a spot in the semifinals of the West Virginia State Junior League Baseball Tournament for 13-and-14-year-olds, being hosted at the Greater Princeton Little League diamond.
It was the third contest of the day, due to weather delays over the weekend.
Moorefield defeated Madison 22-2 in Sunday’s opener, and the Mountain-eers from Charleston took a 14-6 win from Hampshire County.
The Mountaineers play Moorefield at 6 p.m. today in the first semifinal, and Princeton takes on Hampshire County after that game concludes.
The two semifinalists play for the state championship in their age bracket on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
