WELCH — Last night’s Battle of the Views, Chapter 4 was a teaching less for those who are proponents of the team that makes the fewest mistakes coming out the winner.

The much anticipated contest saw the host Golden Knights turn the pigskin over three times on lost fumbles, while getting flagged 14 times for miscues that ran the gamut of almost every possible infraction, as the Raiders came away with a 28-0 win, the second shutout in as many years over Mount View by the River View contingent, in the four year series.

Senior Raider quarterback Ryan Blankenship scored twice, while junior Jordan Wilson and senior L. T. Horne added a bellringer each in the season-opening victory. Wilson ran for 135 yards on the evening.

Blankenship’s second score, in the third quarter, and Wilson’s TD early in the fourth were set up by defensive fumble recoveries.
