Pikeview sweeps past Bluefield on pitch

EAST RIVER — PikeView picked up its first wins of the season, defeating Bluefield in a soccer twinbill on Tuesday at East River Soccer Complex.

Shyann Carr, Courtney Gray and Sophie Klein each scored a goal to lead the PikeView girls to a 3-1 win over the Beavers. Kristen Brinkley had four saves in goal for Bluefield.

Kelsey Fry scored for the Beavers, while Tyra Jackson had eight saves in defeat.

PikeView (1-2) will host Herbert Hoover on Saturday.

Boys Soccer

PikeView 4, Bluefield 0

EAST RIVER — Hunter Klein scored two goals and assisted on another to lead the Panthers past the Beavers.

Alec White and Alex Testerman each had a goal for PikeView. Brandon Calfee dished out two assists. Austin Cordell had three saves for the Panthers.

PikeView (1-1-1) will host Herbert Hoover on Saturday.

South Charleston 4, Princeton 1

PRINCETON — South Charleston scored four second half goals to pull away from the Tigers in an MSAC match.

Will Hickman scored for Princeton, which led 1-0 at the break. Chance Shrewsbury had an assist for the Tigers, while Tanner Neeley and Colton Fix combined for 10 saves in goal.

Princeton (1-1), which was out-shot 11-9, will host Winfield on Thursday.

Volleyball

Narrows 3,                 East Mont 0

NARROWS, Va. — Shana Davis dished out 16 assists, served four aces and picked up the first kill of her career, leading the Green Wave to a season-opening 25-17, 25-12, 25-16 win over Eastern Montgomery.

Tiffany Kast added 11 kills, and Tiffany Perdue had five for the Green Wave.

Narrows (1-0) will host Giles tonight.
