A pair of Kingsport pitchers scattered six hits and Yeixon Ruiz had three hits from the top spot in the batting order to lead the Kingsport Mets past the Bluefield Blue Jays 7-0-in front of 547 at Bowen Field.
Robert Whalen allowed four hits in seven innings, striking out five and walking none. Alberto Baldonado worked the final two frames for the Mets, who out-hit Bluefield 11-6.
Jeff McNeill and Jeyckol De Leon added two hits each for Kingsport. De Leon homered, as did Victor Cruzado, who hit a two-run shot in the sixth.
Jonathan Davis paced the Blue Jays with two hits, including a double, and Angel Rojas also had a pair of singles in the loss.
Four Bluefield pitchers worked in the game, with Brady Dragmire saddled with the loss.
Bluefield (39-20) still leads Pulaski in the East Division, while Kingsport (34-25) is tied for first in the West with Greeneville.
Bluefield will host the Mets again tonight at 7:05 p.m.
