Beavers host Grizzlies on Friday night

PARKERSBURG — The Bluefield Beavers football team stays at home again this weekend in the second round of Class AA state playoffs.

Bluefield (9-2), seeded third in the 16-team field, plays No. 11 Nicholas County (9-2) on Friday night at 7:30 p.m. at Mitchell Stadium in the second round of the playoffs.

In the first round last weekend, the Beavers beat Ravenswood 31-14 and the Grizzlies of Nicholas County upset Wyoming East 35-14.


Second-round pairings for the West Virginia high school football playoffs. Friday games are at 7:30 p.m., Saturday games are at 1:30 p.m., unless otherwise noted:
