Baseball: PikeView rips Westside

GARDNER — Keian Lee had three hits and drove in three runs, leading PikeView’s 16-hit attack in a rout of the Renegades.

Austin Cordell and Zach Meadows each had two hits and drove in two runs for the Panthers, while Ryan Roberts and Carter Shrewsbury each had two hits.

PikeView (11-6), which is 11-2 against schools from West Virginia, will visit Bluefield tonight at Bowen Field.

Abingdon 6, Richlands 4

ABINGDON, Va. — Lucas Hart had a two-run double in a four-run fourth inning, leading the Falcons to a Southwest District victory over the Blue Tornado.

Chase Ray and Patrick Jackson led Richlands with a double and single apiece.

Cody Hahn and Zack Fritz combined on an eight-hitter for the Falcons.

Richlands (1-4, 0-1) will visit Tazewell on Friday.

Mount View 5

WELCH — Liberty put up two or more runs in each of the five innings on Tuesday, ending the game by the 10-run rule.

For Mount View, Tashaan Vineyard and Maurice Brown were both 2 for 3 at bat. Brown had a double and an RBI. Tony Blackburn was 1 for 3 with two RBIs.

Austin Lyons for Liberty was 1 for 3 with an RBI, stole two bases and scored three runs. Dakota Boulet was 3 for 4 with two runs and three runs batted in. Joey Lacek was 2 for 3 with two runs, an RBI and two steals.

Mount View scored all five of its runs in the first. Colten Taylor took the mound in relief for the Raiders and produced five strikeouts and allowed four hits and no runs.

Mount View (2-8) hosts Van on Thursday. Liberty (15-1) hosts Shady Spring today.
