Blue Jays pound Braves

DANVILLE, Va. — The Bluefield Blue Jays scored four runs in the seventh and five in the eighth to pull away and claim an 11-3 win over the Danville Braves, Wednesday night in at Legion Field.

The Blue Jays pounded out 12 hits, led by Mitch Nay’s three hits and two RBIs. Tim Locastro, Alex Maldonado and Jonathan Davis each had a pair of hits, while Locastro and Jesus Gonzalez each knocked in a pair of runs.

Brady Dragmire got the win in relief of starting pitcher Mark Biggs. Joe Lovecchio aand Alvido Jimenez each pitched a scoreless inning for Bluefield.

Matt Kimbrel took the loss for Danville.

The Jays wrap-up their series in Danville with a 7 p.m. game tonight.
