GREENEVILLE, Tenn. —
Tyler White’s solo home run in the eighth inning lifted the Greeneville Astros past the Princeton Rays 2-1, Friday night at Pioneer Field. White drove in both Greeneville runs in the game, the first coming in the opening inning to give the Astros a 1-0 lead.
Princeton tied the game in the sixth when Elias Torres singled, moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by Spencer Edwards and came home on Bralin Jackson’s hit.
Jackson and Torres each had a pair of hits in the game, with Torres getting a double, his seventh of the season.
Hunter Wood suffered the loss in relief of D.J. Slaton.
Austin Chrismon, in relief of Frederick Tiburcio, picked up the win and Gonzalo Sanudo earned the save.
The Rays return to Hunnicutt Field tonight to host the Kingsport Mets. First pitch is at 7:05.
