Lady Blues beat Marion to remain perfect

RICHLANDS, Va. — The Richlands Lady Blues improved to 8-0 on the season with a 65-39 Southwest District win over Marion, Friday night in Richlands.

Brittany Allen topped all scorers with 28 points, while McKenley Davis added 12 and Cassidy Richardson tallied 11.

Bailey Ratliff led Marion with 12 and Callie Mellinger added 11.

Richlands returns to the court Tuesday against SWD foe Abingdon.

GRUNDY, Va. — Savannah Charles scored 18 points to pace Grundy past Honaker in Black Diamond District girls basketball play Friday night. Morgan Hall and Loni Webb added 11 each for the Golden Wave.

Hall pulled down 11 rebounds and Webb had seven assists.

HINTON — Summers County placed three scorers in double figures and claimed a 72-53 win over Bluefield, Friday night at SCHS.

Brandi Morrison and Tyra Wynes led the Bobcats (7-1) with 16 points apiece, Avery Pivont tallied 14 and Shelby Smith 12. Smith had 13 rebounds, while Wynes had 11 boards, six steals and seven assists.

Destiney Sims led Bluefield win a game-high 27 points.
