Roundup: Dillow sparks Bland County

Lady Knights, Narrows boys still unbeaten

ROCKY GAP, Va. — Kristen Dillow was 5 for 6 from beyond the 3-point arc Monday night as the Bland County Lady Bears broke out of a 26-26 halftime tie and defeated Eastern Montgomery 60-47 at the Rocky Gap High School gym.

Dillow tossed in 23 points and Malee Lambert and Amber Eaton each scored nine points for Bland County (2-3), which plays in the George Wythe Tournament at 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Afton Graham topped Eastern Montgomery’s scoring with 18 points.

WELCH — The Mount View Lady Knights dashed past Man on Monday at the Ergie Smith Court to stay perfect on the season.

Jasmine Lash had five 3-pointers en route to 17 points and Keisha Johnson added 16 for the Lady Knights (4-0), who sank nine treys in the game and led 33-15 at the half. Morgan Conn was Man’s top scorer with 17 points.

Mount View hosts PikeView on Wednesday.

GARDNER — Hope Lester scored her 1,000th point for Westside in the road win. The Lady Renegades took immediate control with a 15-3 lead after the first quarter. Lester topped all scorers with 18 points.

PikeView’s Courtney White notched 15 points and 18 rebounds.

The Panthers play Mount View in Welch on Wednesday.

NEW CASTLE, Va. — The Narrows Green Wave surged to a 22-2 edge after the first quarter and improved to 5-0 on the season. Chandler Burton had 18 points to lead Narrows and Austin Lively chipped in 16.

Brandon Fisher led all scorers with 22 points.

Narrows defeated James Monroe 51-42 on Friday night in the Narrows Christmas Tournament, setting up the tourney championship game with Giles this Saturday at 4:30 p.m. at the Nattows gym. The Green Wave will also play Giles on Friday in a regular-season contest.
