G-Men gun down Spartans, Tornado blows past G-Girls

PEARISBURG, Va. — The Graham G-Men, for the second time in a week, defeated the Giles Spartans, the latest 72-44, Wednesday night at Giles High School.

Three G-Men scored in double digits, led Tony Hood and Zach Proffitt with 16 apiece. It marked the second straight night Proffitt scored 16. Colby Hill followed closely with 14.

John Shelor topped the Spartans scoring column with 17 points, coming on five threes and two free throws.

For Graham Hood also had four assists, four steals and three rebounds, Ben Sheets had five assists, Hill had three assists and seven boards and Proffitt snagged five rebounds.

The G-Men (5-1) are in action next on Friday as they take on the Bluefield Beavers at the Brushfork Armory.

Richlands 65, Graham 36

RICHLANDS, Va. — Brittany Allen canned four 3s to finish with 33 points, leading Richlands to a non-district win over the G-Girls.

MaKenley Davis added three 3s and 14 point for the Blue Tornado, which outscored Graham 39-16 in the second half.

Graham was paced by Karly Morgan with 13, while Emaleigh Gallinger tossed in eight.

Cassidy Richardson added eight points and 10 assists for Richlands, while Montana Hearl contributed eight rebounds and four assists. Rachel Alley pulled down nine boards.

Richlands (3-0) will play Patrick Henry in a tournament at Virginia High tonight at 8:30 p.m. Graham (4-3) will play in a tournament next week in Wytheville.
