Lightfoot hits two doubles, Beavers tackle Shady Spring

SHADY SPRING — Justin Lightfoot hit two doubles and drove in three runs, and the Bluefield Beavers defeated Shady Spring 8-1 on Saturday.

Justin Mariotti had two hits, including a double, and Christian Oster added two hits and drove in a run.

Bluefield used three pitchers, with Trevor Mullins picking up the win.

Bluefield (4-9) will host James Monroe on Tuesday.

PikeView wins two

CHARMCO — The PikeView Panthers won a pair of baseball games Saturday at Greenbrier West High School. In their first game of the day the Panthers beat Nicholas County 13-3. Ryan Roberts was 4-for-4 and Keian Lee got the pitching victory.

In their second game the Panthers defeated host Greenbrier West 14-11. Jordin Hardin was 4-for-4, Kevin Cottle smacked a home run and Levi Nash was the winning pitcher.

The Panthers (9-6) host Wyoming East on Monday.

Prep Tennis

PRINCETON — William Robertson improved to 11-2 on the season, helping the Tigers defeat Woodrow Wilson 5-2. on Saturday.

The Princeton boys also defeated Ripley 5-2 on Friday night. The Tigers also fell 7-0 at George Washington.

The Princeton girls dropped a 5-2 decision to the Eagles, and also fell 7-0 to George Washington Friday.
