Roundup: PikeView girls rout Lady Mavericks

Boys: MCA, Richlands, River View pick up wins

GARDNER — The PikeView Lady Panthers, who moved up from 10th to eighth in the latest AP Class AA basketball poll, beat James Monroe 76-48 Monday night in Gardner.

PikeView (13-3), which took a 39-12 lead into halftime, was paced by Lyndsay Hatfield with 22 points, 10 rebounds, seven steals and five assists.

Madison May had 12 points, eight rebounds, four steals and an assist. Courtney White added eight rebounds and 10 points. Lauryn Hatfield chalked up four rebounds, two steals, one assist and one block.

PikeView (13-3) will travel to Shady Spring on Wednesday.

HURLEY, Va. — Adrianna Cline led the Lady Tigers with 23 points in their home-court win on Monday. Breanna Stacy had 13 points and Kourtney Cook notched 12 for Hurley, which led 33-29 at halftime.

Lensa Asefa scored 24 points and Belsie Brook had 10 for the visitors from the Grundy area.

Hurley is in a quad tonight at home against Twin Valley.

RICHLANDS, Va. — The Blue Tornado spun into another gear in the third quarter Monday, scoring 25 points, and then held off the Tigers in a game that included 15 treys.

Luke Phillips scored 30 points, nailing four 3-pointers, to lead Richlands (8-13). Cody Fuller added 14 for the victors.

Haysi, which led 37-31 at halftime, got 21 points from Hunter Sutherland, 16 by Guage Hill and 14 from Drake Howell.

Richlands plays Wednesday at Abingdon.
