Roundup: PikeView girls tame Grizzlies

Summers, Richlands, Twin Valley girls, MCA boys win

SUMMERSVILLE — Madison May scored 15 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and had four steals to lead the PikeView Lady Panthers to a 47-29 win over the Nicholas County Grizzlies, Tuesday night at NCHS.

Alexis May added 14 points for PikeView while Courtney White pulled down nine boards and Lyndsey Hatfield seven.

PikeView improved to 10-3 with the win and will host Summers County on Thursday. It will be “Think Pink” night at PVHS and those with cancer and cancer survivors will be honored and are urged to attend the game.

PRINCETON — Five three point baskets in the third period by Mercer Christian helped lift the Cavaliers to a 55-42 win over Victory Christian, Tuesday evening.

Three treys by Caleb Janning and two by Chandler Scott in the third stanza broke the game open and carried the Cavs to victory.

Daniel Boothe had a game-high 30 points to lead MCA and Janning added 13.

Juwan Jordan led Tazewell with a game-high 33 points and had three steals while Malik Davis tallied 11 points and seven rebounds.

The contest was tied at 46, but Virginia High out-scored the Bulldogs 35-20 to gain the win.
