Roundup: PikeView topples Webster County

Summers girls beat Westside

WEBSTER SPRINGS — The PikeView Panthers evened their record at 4-4 with a 76-63 win Friday night over the Webster County Highlanders.

Zach Meadows had a double-double as he tingled the twines for 31 points and he pulled down 19 rebounds. Jason Weitzel added 16 for the Panthers and Tanner Farley tallied 12.

Dalton Davis and Stephen Cogar led Webster County with 15 points each and Robbie Cogar tossed in 14.

PikeView hosts Summers County Monday and plays five games next week.

BRISTOL, Va. — The Blue Tornado hung with the Virginia High Bearcats in the first half, but a big third quarter helped the home team take the victory.

Richlands senior Ben Brown was one rebound short of a double-double with 22 points and nine boards.

Both teams sank 10 three-pointers.

Richlands (6-9) plays at Twin Valley tonight, then at Graham on Monday, and Abingdon on Tuesday.

Mercer Christian 66, Dayspring 37

BLACKSBURG, Va. — The Mercer Christian Academy Cavaliers improved to 23-4 on the year with a win Friday evening at Dayspring Christian Academy of Blacksburg.

Daniel Boothe led the way for the Cavs with 19 points and Caleb Janning dropped in 17, including five three-point goals in the first half.

MCA led 15-0 after one quarter of play and held Dayspring to eight points in the final paeriod. The Cavaliers host Calvary Christian today.
