River City Rovers blank King’s Warriors 3-nil

JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. — The road woes continued for Southern West Virginia as the King's Warriors were shut out 3-0 by the River City Rovers Thursday night in suburban Louisville, Ky.

Alejandro Garcia scored twice in the first half, while Suleiman Thomas scored an insurance goal late in the second half for River City. Rovers' goalie Dalyan Hawes earned the shutout for River City.

Jonathan "Boo" Davis took the loss in goal for the King's Warriors.

Southern West Virginia's offense has gone cold the last three games, scoring only one goal in that span, while being shut out for the second-straight game.

The King's Warriors also lost their 10 consecutive road game dating back to July of 2012.

The King's Warriors fell to 1-2-1 on the season while River City picked up its' first victory of 2014 improving to 1-3-1.

Southern West Virginia won't have to wait long to put this match behind them as they'll make the short trip up to Cincinnati to meet the Dutch Lions Saturday night at Xavier University with kickoff set for 7 p.m.
