Prep roundup: Nester’s 20 leads PikeView past Tigers

SHADY SPRING — Hope Nester scored 20 points, dished out four assists and snared four steals, leading PikeView to a season-opening 70-38 win over Shady Spring on Monday night.

Lindsey Hatfield added 12 points, 13 rebounds and five steals, while Courtney White tallied 11 points and six boards for the Panthers.

Madison May had eight points and six rebounds, while Alexis May contributed six points and five steals. Lauren Hatfield dished out four assists.

Kaley Dickenson paced the Tigers with 18 points, while Morgan Hylton added 12.

PikeView (1-0) will visit defending Class AA state champion Westside on Thursday.

Pipestem Christian 68, Cross Lanes Christian 43

PIPESTEM — Pipestem Christian improved to 4-0 on Monday night, getting 20 points and 18 rebounds from Aleks Lane and 26 points from Austin Peyton, who nailed six three-point baskets.

The only double-digit scorer for Cross Lanes (1-2) was Austin Michaels with 11 points. Cross Lanes sank eight three-pointers and Pipestem had seven.

Pipestem Christian plays at home on Friday against Teays Valley Christian, known as one of the better Christian school teams in the state.
