Church, Wasilewski toiling in minors

BLUEFIELD —  PikeView and Marshall product Joey Church worked an inning on Monday for the Lake Elsinore Storm (Class A Advanced, California League), allowing two walks and striking out one. Church, a 17th round choice by San Diego in 2011, is 0-1 with a 4.50 ERA in nine relief appearances. He has struck out 10 in 12 innings on the mound. He also had two outings earlier this season with the Class-AA San Antonio Missions. Tazewell product Zak Wasilewski dropped to 2-2 on the season despite allowing just two earned runs and five hits in six innings on the mound over the weekend for the Vancouver Canadians (Class A Short Season, Northwest League). Wasilewski, a 14th round selection by Toronto in 2012, is 2-2 wit ha 4.45 ERA in six starts. Wasi has struck out 19 in 30 1/3 innings.
