BRISTOL, Tenn. — A pair of local products at King University in Bristol, Tenn. have been chosen as the Conference Carolinas Scholar Athletes of the Year for their respective sports.
Graham’s Maegan Henry earned the honors in women’s track and field, while Cassie Ringstaff of Richlands did the same in softball.
A recent graduate from King with a 3.66 GPA, Ringstaff was an All-Conference Carolinas first team honoree, batting .351 in league play, along with 19 stolen bases and 24 runs scored.
Henry, a rising senior at King, won the Conference Carolinas Outdoor championship for a second straight year in the hammer throw and shot put. Henry, who has a GPA of 3.79, set four school records last school year.
