Lady Blues down Twin Valley

RICHLANDS, Va. — Brittany Allen scored 24 points, canning four of Richlands’ eight 3s, to lead the Lady Blues to a 53-46 win over Twin Valley on Wednesday night at Richlands Middle School.

MaKenley Davis tallied 11 points and Cassidy Richardson added 10 points and eight assists. Rachel Alley pulled down 11 rebounds.

Katelyn Jackson led Twin Valley with 19 points, while Kara Goodman added 11.

Richlands (13-2) will visit Tazewell on Friday with first place up for grabs in the Southwest District.

CHARMCO —  Khadijah Brown scored 10 points to lead the Bluefield Lady Beavers past the Greenbrier West Lady Cavaliers.

Carroll County 45, Tazewell 38

HILLSVILLE, Va. — The Carroll County Lady Cavaliers handed the Tazewell Lady Bulldogs their first Southwest District loss of the season 45-38, Wednesday night at CCHS.

Whitney Saunders and Haley Christian led Tazewell seven points apiece while Taylor Martin had a game-high 15 for Carroll County.

The Lady Dogs (12-7, 4-1) return to the court Friday when when host Richlands.

MARION, Va. — Ethan Richardson scored 21 points and Brenton Al. ford added 13 to lead the Scarlet Hurricane to a Southwest District win over the Bulldogs.

Noah Walker led Tazewell with 23 points, while Jalen Jordan added 16.

Sam Lincoln added 14 rebounds for Marion .

Tazewell will host Richlands on Friday.

RICHLANDS, Va. — Dalton Elswick scored two points all night, but it came on a loose ball with 5 seconds left to help the Panthers win at Richlands.

Logan Cantrell scored 20 points and Shannon Adams added eight to lead Twin Valley, which trailed by four with 15 seconds to go.

Cantrell banked in a 3 to narrow the margin to 1, and during a scramble for a loose ball, Elswick wound up with the ball and made the winning shot.

Richlands, which missed four crucial free throws in the final seconds, was led by Ben Brown with five 3s and 15 points.

Richlands will visit Tazewell on Friday, and travel to Haysi the following night.

RICHLANDS, Va. — Mack Owens and Chris Sigmon scored 14 points each to lead the Falcons to a Southwest District rout of the Blue Tornado on Tuesday night.

Josh Hess added 13 points and Reid Hasley tossed in 11 for the Falcons.

Richlands was led by Ben Brown with nine points and six apiece from Zach Johnson and Gabe Hunsaker.
