BURLINGTON, N.C. — Wednesday night’s contest between the Bluefield Blue Jays and Burlington Royals was suspended in the bottom of the fourth inning due to rain with the Blue Jays holding a 1-0 lead.

Bluefield’s Matt Robson started on the mound and pitched four innings of one-hit scoreless baseball and struck out four Royals’ hitters.

Alexis Moldonado drove home Matt Dean with the game’s only run in the top of the fourth inning and Tim Locastro had a pair of hits for the Jays.

Matt Tenuta worked the first four innings for Burlington and gave up five hits.

The two teams will complete the suspended game this evening at 5 p.m. and then play the regularly-scheduled nine inning game.
