BC Rams take No. 6 seed into Mid-South baseball tourney

COLUMBIA, Ky. — The Bluefield College baseball team will take the No. 6 seed into the Mid-South Conference tournament, beginning with a quarterfinal matchup against No. 3 seed St. Catharine College on Sunday at 4 p.m.

The tournament’s opening day will take place at Egnew Park in Columbia and HIG field in Campbellsville, Ky., with two opening-round games and an elimination game at each site.

The tournament continues on Monday, May 5 and runs through May 7 at Egnew Park.

The Rams (32-15, 13-13 MSC) will open play at Egnew Park against the Patriots (25-25, 15-12 MSC), while No. 2 seed Cumberland (Tenn.) (35-17, 17-9 MSC) and No. 7 seed Lindsey Wilson College (26-27, 12-14 MSC) also play in Columbia on day one.

The loser of each game meets in an elimination game at 7 p.m. Sunday.

Top-seeded Georgetown College (38-6, 23-3 MSC), No. 8 seed University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) (31-21, 11-15 MSC), No. 4 seed Shawnee State University (31-24, 14-12 MSC), and No. 5 seed Campbellsville University (26-19, 14-12 MSC) will compete at HIG field.

Four games are scheduled for Monday while three are slated for Tuesday. The tournament championship is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Wednesday with the if-necessary game to follow.
