Princeton boys, PikeView girls claim wins on the pitch

BELLE — Luke Lilly had 14 saves in goal as the Princeton Senior High boys soccer team defeated Riverside 6-2 in the Kanawha Valley on Monday evening.

Colton Fix scored twice for Princeton (3-3), which got single goals from Bo Williams, Mason Kroll, Ryan French and Dylan Hager. Darren Neeley provided two assists; also recording assists were Kade Bradley, Matt Farley, Kroll and Austin Smith. Princeton had 18 shots on goal.

The Tigers host Woodrow Wilson in a conference match on Thursday, with the JV game at 5:30 p.m. and the varsity at about 7:30.

The junior varsity team beat Riverside 5-0 Monday to go 2-0-3 on the season.

Girls soccer: PikeView 9, Wyoming East 1

GARDNER — Laura Hill scored five goals for PikeView (2-2). Sophie Klein added two goals and Madison May and Brooke Baker had one goal each. Providing one assist each were Hill and May, Charlotte Webster, Courtney Gray and Crysta Meekins. Panthers goalkeeper Kristen Brinkley had two saves.

Hope McNeely scored the Warriors’ goal. Laura Sizemore had 13 saves in goal for Wyoming East.

PikeView (2-2) plays at Bluefield on Thursday at 5 p.m.
