GLENVILLE — Concord recorded a 3-1 road victory at Glenville State  in a WVIAC volleyball contest.

The Mountain Lions’ Sarah Jones posted a team-best 11 kills. Amanda Walker amassed 23 assists while Nikki McMillan added 11. Lindsey Smith tallied a match-high 19 digs while Jones earned a double-double by notching 10. Jones also had six total blocks. Jasmin Sutherland totaled 10 blocks while Danielle Compton amassed 11 total blocks.

The Mountain Lions host Davis & Elkins at the Carter Center,  Oct. 15 at 7 p.m.

Middle School Football

Bluefield 50, Tazewell 34

TAZEWELL, Va. — Carlos Reed scored five touchdowns, three rushing and two receiving to lead Bluefield Middle School to a 50-34 win at Tazewell.

Reed’s runs were 72, 60 and 48 yards and his receptions from Jordan Smith covered 78 and 56 yards.

Mookie Collier had a 45-yard TD run and Elijah Green a 42-yard score for the Buccaneers.

Bluefield is now 3-3-1 and play at Princeton on Oct. 25.
