Prep boys: Graham runs past Richlands once again

RICHLANDS, Va. — The Graham G-Men gradually built a huge advantage at Richlands on Tuesday night and took a 71-46 win from their county neighbors.

Topping a balanced scoring sheet for Graham (4-1) were Colby Hill with 16 points, Roman Workman with 12 and Spencer Sheets with 11. Hill had a pair of three-pointers. Graham also defeated the Blue Tornado on Friday.

Ben Brown again led the Blues’ scoring with 14 points. Richlands (0-2) was only able to produce 11 points in each of the first three quarters.

Graham wound up 13 for 16 at the foul line, while Richlands was 9 for 18.

Tonight, Graham plays at Giles. The Blue Tornado travels to Honaker on Friday.

BRADSHAW — John Keffer scored 19 poinst and Jake Adkins added 11, leading the Hillbillies past the Raiders.

River View (0-2) was paced by Tyree Baker, who had 12 points, including two of the Raiders’ eight 3s. He also had three assists.

Jimmy Baker scored 10 points, while Zack Morgan added seven points and three steals. Taylor DeHaven dished out three assists, while Tony Clevinger pulled down nine rebounds and Joseph McClanahan added seven.

Man (1-0) hit five 3s, led by Clay Brumfield with two.

River View will host Montcalm on Friday, a contest that will be preceded by a girls game between the Lady Raiders and  Independence.

LINDSIDE — Micah Deskins scored 18 points to lead three Mavericks in double figures to lead the Mavericks to their first win of the season.

Garrett Mann added 11 points for James Monroe, while Chord Settle tallied 10. Clay Hunter contributed nine points for the Mavericks, which will play Narrows in the Narrows Christmas Tournament on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Giles was led by John Shelor with 16 points and 13 from Charlie Stephens. Kyle Chafin canned nine points for the Spartans, who will play Roanoke Catholic in the Narrows tournament on Friday at 6.

PIPESTEM —Austin Peyton scored 28 points to lead the Panthers past the Cavaliers.

Jonathan Easter paced Mercer Christian with 16 points, including four 3s.

Pipestem (7-0) will visit Ballard Christian on Tuesday. Mercer Christian will Mountain State Christian on Thursday.
