BLUEFIELD, Va. —
Bluefield College linebacker Tarrell Starckey has been named as a First-Team All Mid-South Conference West Division performer. The freshman from Richmond, Va., was the league’s leading tackler with 10.9 per game. Playing all 11 games, he also led the Rams in pass breakups (4), sacks (2), fumble recoveries (2), solo (60) and assisted (60) tackles along with tackles for loss (11) and yards from such tackles (60.5). He returned a fumble 81 yards for the Rams longest TD return of the season.
In addition to that fumble return the 6-foot-4, 240-pound Starckey returned one of his two interceptions for 20 yards.
He joins 31 other league players on the all-conference first team as voted on by the MSC coaches. Starckey was chosen as one of four linebackers on the first team.
