Prep roundup: G-Girls blank Bulldogs; Wilson bats, runs Raiders past Generals

TAZEWELL, Va. — Caroline Kammer scored one of four goals for Graham, as the G-Girls defeated Tazewell 4-0 on Wednesday night.

Morgan Whisman added a goal from 35 yards out in the second half, and also assisted on Kammer’s goal, which made it 2-0 at the break.

Jennifer Day and Caroline Wilkinson had a goal apiece for Graham.

Christina Mounzer had three saves for the G-Girls (3-1), which will host Radford on Friday.



Prep Baseball

River View 13, Montcalm 3

BRADSHAW — Jordan Wilson knows his role as a leadoff hitter, collecting four hits and stealing five bases for the Raiders.

T.J. Stacy added three hits and scored three runs. Ryan Blankenship pickd up the win, striking out six Generals.

John Casto paced Montcalm with two hits and a run scored.

River View will host McDowell County rival Mount View today.

GARDNER — Austin Cordell collected two hits, drove in three runs and also picked up a save on the mound for the Panthers, who won their fifth straight game.

Carter Shrewsbury and Ryan Roberts had two hits each for PikeView.

Jordan Meadows led Shady Spring, which scored four runs in the seventh to make it close, with three hits.

PikeView will host Wyoming East today at 5:30 p.m.

TAZEWELL, Va. — Nathan Figueroa scored two goals and assisted on another goal to lead the G-Men past the Bulldogs.

Samuel Stowers and Will Olive added two goals each for Graham. Caleb Cox had two assists, while Jonathan Figueroa and Olive had one apiece. Omar Sekkarie also scored for the G-Men.

Carter Rasnick scored for Tazewell.

Hunter Cook had 18 saves for Graham (3-1), which will host Giles today.

PikeView 13, Bluefield 1

BLUEFIELD — Shelby Compton had two hits, drove in four runs and scored a run to lead the Panthers to a road win over the Beavers.

Kristen Brinkley had two hits, two runs and two RBIs. Kristen Worrell struck out four to pick up the win in the circle.

PikeView (3-4) visits River View today.

NARROWS, Va. — Kalyn Neal hit a three-run home run in a seven-run fourth inning to lead the Green Wave past the Generals.

Kasey Richardson had a triple and double for Narrows (2-3), which visits Giles on Monday.

Montcalm’s lone hit came from Autumn Bouldin.
