CHAPMANVILLE — Zach Meadows saved his best rebound for last.

Meadows grabbed a defensive rebound of a missed Mount View shot in the final moments on Friday night, securing a one-point win in the Bob Runyon Memorial Tournament in Chapmanville.

The Panthers won their first game of the season and earned a spot in tonight’s championship.

In the fourth quarter, Mount View sank no field goals and made 4 of 6 free throws while PikeView was 7 for 10 at the foul line, according to the PikeView coaching staff.

The Golden Knights cut a four-point lead down to one with their free throws, and had a chance for a win when PikeView turned the ball over with 16 seconds left. The final shot was off the mark, and Meadows made sure there was no second-chance attempt by the Knights.

Meadows, who had 11 rebounds, was the game’s top scorer with 17 points. Logan McKinney added 12 points.

Mount View’s balanced scoring featured 12 points by Antoine Calloway and Maurice Brown, and 10 points by Teddy Hazzard, who nailed both of Mount View’s three-pointers.
