Narrows volleyball advances to MED semis

NARROWS, Va. — Tiffany Perdue contributed eight kills and Kelsey Mosley added nine aces, leading Narrows to a 25-13, 25-9, 25-10 Mountain Empire District tournament quarterfinal over Fort Chiswell on Thursday night.

Narrows will play Galax today in a semifinal at Grayson County High School at 2:30 p.m. That will be followed by Bland County and Grayson County at 4. The championship game will follow.

Perdue also had three aces for Narrows, while Mosley added four kills. Claire Reece (10 assists, 5 aces, 2 kills) and Shanda Davis (13 assists, 2 aces) also contributed for the Green Wave.

Bland County defeated Graham in the other semifinal in three games. •

•In other area volleyball, Honaker will host Haysi for the Black Diamond District title on Monday.

•Marion defeated Richlands on Thursday to earn a share of the Southwest District title with Carroll County. The SWD tourney will be held this week.

•West Virginia sectional tournaments will also begin next week.
