MCA, PikeView victorious in hoops

PRINCETON — Mercer Christian Academy got 23 points from Caleb Janning and 14 from Daniel Booth and defeated Dayspring of Blacksburg, Va., 61-56, Saturday afternoon. With the win MCA improved to 9-2 on the season.

CHAPMANVILLE — PikeView’s Lady Panthers improved to 3-0 on the campaign with a win Saturday evening in Chapmanville.

Lyndsay Hatfield paced the Panthers with 17 points and Lauryn Hatfield added 12. Madison May and Courtney White each tossed in 11. White had seven rebounds, Lyndsay Hatfield six and May four boards, while Lauryn Hatfield had four steals.

Lyndsay Hatfield was chosen MVP for the Lady Panthers in the Classic.

PikeView returns to action Monday night hosting No. 1 Westside.

HINTON — The Summers County Lady Bobcats moved to 4-0 on the season with a double-overtime win over Clay County in the championship game of the Rogers Oil Classic.

Brandy Morrison led the Lady Bobcats with 36 points while Whittney Justice added 15 and Avery Pivont 13.
