Hill, Weitzel lead PikeView track in Fairlea

FAIRLEA — The PikeView boys and girls’ 4x800 meter relay teams remained undefeated on the season at the Greenbrier East Invitational on Wednesday night.

Laura Hill, Lauryn Hatfield, Katelyn Odle and Sophie Klein combined to capture the girls 4x800 relay in 11 minutes and 17 seconds for the girls, who finished third as a team behind Class AAA foes Greenbrier East and Shady Spring.

Other top two finishers among the girls were Jasmine Johnson (1st place, shot put, 30’6”), Odle (2nd, 800 meters, 2:44) and Hill (2nd, 3,200 meters, 14:04).

The PikeView boys’ 4x800 relay team of Vaughn Campbell, Hunter Klein, Chris McBride and Jason Weitzel also won at Greenbrier East in 8 minutes and 58 seconds.

Weitzel also placed first in the 1,600 meters (4:46), 800 meters (2:09), and second in the 3,200 meters.

The 4x400 meter relay team  of Josh Butler, Alex Testerman, Hunter Klein and Colton Plumly placed second in 3 minutes and 57 seconds.
