Graham sweeps past Wave

BLUEFIELD, Va. — Colby Hill scored 20 points and Tony Hood added 17 to lead Graham to a 67-56 win over Narrows on Thursday night at Graham Middle School.

Hill also had five rebounds and four steals, while Hood added six steals, five boards and five assists. Roman Workman scored 11 points, and also provided six rebounds and six steals.

Zach Proffitt pulled down nine rebounds for Graham, which had 15 steals as a team.

Chandler Burton led Narrows with 23 points, while Rodney Perdue added 11. Burton had four 3s for the Green Wave.

Graham (6-3) will host Bland County tonight, while Narrows (8-3) will visit Fort Chiswell.

HURLEY, Va. — Billy Stacy scored 19 points and Nick Gibson added 15, but the Rebels dropped a three-point decision to the Cavaliers.

Holston was led by Wes Roberts with 14 points.

Hurley will host Northwood tonight.

GLEN DANIEL — Keisha Johnson nearly outscored the Raiders by herself, scoring 22 points to lead the Knights to a 6-1 start to the season.

Kaitlyn Gillespie added six points for Mount View, which will host Independence on Monday.

Liberty (1-7) was paced by Jasmine Law with 10 points.

NARROWS, Va. — Lexi Kiser had 16 points, five assists and five steals to lead the G-Girls past the Green Wave.

Emaleigh Gallinger added 11 points and five steals, while Casey Spencer and Jia Coppola contributed 10 points apiece.

Dejah Carter had eight points, 10 rebounds and four blocks, and held talented freshman Shelby Baker to five points.

Tiffany Perdue led Narrows (5-5) with eight points, while Victoria Wade added seven. The Green Wave will visit Fort Chiswell tonight.

Graham, which also received nine points from Bailee Poe, will host Bland County tonight in a quad.
