GOLF

BLUEFIELD, Va. — Bluefield College's 7th Annual Alpha Natural Resources Golfers' Challenge will be held on Monday, Aug. 25, at Pipestem Resort State Park, with a chance to win $10,000 for a fourth straight year.

Both bring with them extra benefits in addition to golf. The four-man captain’s choice event will start at 7:30 a.m.Team prizes will be awarded to the first, second and third place finishers. Individual awards also will be presented to the players with the "longest drive" and the "closest to the pin" shot. Additional prizes will be given away through drawings held during the day. The $10,000 cash prize available to the participant who scores a hole-in-one on a course par three. TAZEWELL, Va. — The Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office Relay for Life Team and the American Cancer Society are sponsoring a Trout Rodeo on Saturday, Sept. 20, from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. at the Tazewell Moose Lodge stream located just off Route 19. The stream will be stocked with rainbow trout and all proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society.
