BRISTOL, Va. — The Honaker football team will hold its annual golf tournament on Saturday, Aug. 16, at Clear Creek Golf Course. Registration is at 1 p.m., with tee off at 2. It will be a four-person, captain’s choice event, with monetary prizes for the top three finishers. There is also a hole-in -one car give-away, door prizes and a barbecue lunch. BLUEFIELD, Va. — Bluefield College's 7th Annual Alpha Natural Resources Golfers' Challenge will be held on Monday, Aug. 25, at Pipestem Resort State Park, with a chance to win $10,000 for a fourth straight year.

Both bring with them extra benefits in addition to golf. The four-man captain’s choice event will start at 7:30 a.m.Team prizes will be awarded to the first, second and third place finishers. Individual awards also will be presented to the players with the "longest drive" and the "closest to the pin" shot. Additional prizes will be given away through drawings held during the day. The $10,000 cash prize available to the participant who scores a hole-in-one on a course par three. BLUEFIELD — A “Big Blue Reunion” of Bluefield State athletes who played for the Blues from 1968-80 will be held at the Bluefield City Auditorium on Aug. 16 at noon. Participants are urged to bring a covered dish. There is no charge. A group of former BSC coaches are seeking to reunite players and coaches that brought athletic glory to the region.
