BLUEFIELD, Va. — Equipment will be distributed to all Graham High School varsity and junior varsity football players at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, July 23, at the GHS locker room. All physicals must be completed by the start of practice on Monday, July 28.

MATEWAN — The Massey Energy Hatfield-McCoy Senior Bowl Classic will be held on Saturday, Aug. 2 at 7:30 p.m. at Matewan High School. Tickets for the game between teams representing West Virginia and Kentucky are $6 for adults and $4 for students and will go on sale at 6 p.m. the day of the game.

BLUEFIELD — All boys who plan to play football for the Bluefield Middle School Buccaneers must report on Aug. 8 from 8:30 to 10 a.m. for equipment handout. BASEBALL

BASTIAN, Va. — The Bland County Little League will host its first Goodfield Skills Camp on July 28-31 at the Bland Little League fields. The age groups will be split into 5-to-7-years-old from 4 p.m.-5:30 p.m. and a pair of sessions for 8-12-year-olds from 9 a.m.-11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.-3:30 p.m. Instructors from Goodfield Baseball will focus on both skills development in the offensive and defensive part of the game. Among the Goodfield Baseball instructors are Ed Goodson, who played with the Los Angeles Dodgers, and his father, Kirk Goodson, who coached Grayson County to the state baseball title in 1997.
