ATHENS — Fifteen teams and 531 athletes took part in Saturday’s Concord Invitational at Callaghan Stadium.
The Winfield boys and girls teams took the team titles.
Among the boys individual honors, Graham’s Seth Tibbs won the 100 yard dash, while Tazewell’s Justin Burton captured the shot put and discus.
PikeView, which was led by Brent Roark — who was third in the 3,200 meters and fourth in the 1,600 — came in seventh as a team. The PikeView quartet of Wes Blake, Dale Mitchell, Corey Clark and Jay Kelly were fifth in the 4x200 relay.
Tazewell was eighth as a team, while Graham was 12th.
Tazewell’s Lauren Bennett led the area girls participants, finishing second in the shot put and discus, leading the Bulldogs to eighth place. PikeView was ninth and James Monroe came in 12th.
PikeView was led by the 4x800 relay team of Trish Galligher, Brandi Wiley, Leah Cook and Chelsea East, which finished in fourth place.
Concord University hosted a college meet on Friday and finished first out of four teams.
