BLUEFIELD, Va. — The Bluefield, Va. Little League is accepting applications for the spring baseball, softball and t-ball seasons, with boys and girls from the Bluefield, Springville and Pocahontas areas urged to participate. Age groups range from 4-of-16 years of age. Signups are being held Saturday, March 22, at the Tazewell County Public Library in Bluefield. Applications can be picked up at the library and must be postmarked by March 20 to be eligible to play. BRISTOL, Va. — The VA Western Mustangs 17U girls basketball team is looking for players for the 2008 season. BLUEFIELD — The 3rd Annual Bluefield Blazers Basketball Tournament will be held April 18-20 at the Bluefield Recreation Department. The event is open to boys and girls, grades 5-12. The fee is $120 per team with a two-game guarantee with an entry deadline of April 6. Each winning team in the five different divisions (grades) will receive a medal. ATHENS — The Concord University Volleyball Day Camp is July 28-30 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Carter Center in Athens, for beginning players. The $40 camp fee includes cafeteria lunch and a T-shirt. Drills and activities provide realistic game play situations. Concord staff and players will provide instruction.
