BLUEFIELD, Va. — The 2009 Bluefield, Va. Youth Basketball League is now accepting applications for the upcoming season. Applications can be picked up at area schools and at Bluefield Va. Town Hall.

BLUEFIELD — The Bluefield Elks Lodge Hoop Shoot will be held on Saturday, Jan. 3, at the Greater Bluefield Community Center. Boys and girls, ages 8-13, are eligible to participate. It starts at 9:30 a.m., with registration at 9. For more information, call Tony Morris at (304) 323-3838.

PRINCETON — The Princeton Elks Hoop Shoot will be held on Sunday, Jan. 4, at the Princeton Recreation Center. Ages groups include 8-9, 10-11 and 12-13. Sign-ups start at 1:30 p.m., with the competition beginning at 2. There is no entry fee, and trophies will be awarded to the top three in each age category. CASTLEWOOD, Va. — The Blue Devils Boys Classic will be held Jan. 2-3 at Castlewood High. The premier area youth tournament is limited to 32 teams, including divisions for grade 4-5 and 6-7.
