Surveillance camera captures suspect in string of breaking and enterings

PRINCETON — A surveillance camera has captured images of a suspect wanted in connection with a string of breaking and enterings to homes and vehicles in the Quail Valley subdivision of Mercer County.

The surveillance video shows the male suspect, who is skinny and about 6 feet tall, attempting to break into a vehicle. The most recent thefts occurred late last week, according to Deputy W.E. Rose of the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office.

Rose said a vehicle and outbuilding was hit on June 12, and then another five vehicles and five out-buildings were burglarized on June 13.

Rose said the suspect is stealing anything of value that he can find, including jewelry electronics and other items. In one instance, the suspect gained entry to a house while the owners were at home and sleeping.

Police believe only one individual is involved in the Quail Valley subdivision thefts. Anyone with information concerning the crimes is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 304-487-8364.
