One charged in connection with Buchanan County armed robbery

GRUNDY, Va. —  Deputies with the Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office responded to an armed robbery call at the Dash-In Convenience store on U.S. Route 460, according to Sheriff Ray Foster.

At approximately 5:15 a.m., June 6, Buchanan County 911 dispatch received a call that an armed robbery had occurred at the Dash-In.

Foster said Brandon O’Neil Justice, no age available, of Mouthcard, Ky., was charged with strong-armed robbery and use of a firearm in commission of a felony.

According to investigators, a male entered the store and pointed a firearm at the clerk and demanded money.

 The clerk complied with the demand. The male exited the store and escaped on foot following U.S. Route 460 in the direction of the Kentucky state line with approximately $230 in cash, according to a press release from the sheriff’s office.

Justice is being held at the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail Haysi Facility without bond, and will be seen in Buchanan County General District Court on Thursday, June 12, 2014 for arraignment.  No one was injured in this incident, and the investigation in ongoing.
