Dillow named Bluefield’s new chief of police

BLUEFIELD — The Bluefield City Board introduced the city’s citizens to their new chief of police today during the board’s regular public meeting.

Chief D.M. “Dennis” Dillow joined the Bluefield Police Department in 1990 and steadily worked his way up the ranks. Dillow was named the city’s interim chief of police in December 2012 when the former chief, J.W. “Joe” Wilson, retired.

Four new officers who will undergo training at the West Virginia State Police Academy were sworn in soon after Dillow was named chief.

For more about the new chief of police and his plans for the department, read Wednesday’s Daily Telegraph or visit www.bdtonline.com.
