Bluewell, Brushfork to raise funds with greeting cards

BLUEWELL — Residents will be able to pick up holiday cards with a local theme all to benefit beautification efforts in the Bluewell and Brushfork area.

Skip Crane, vice president of the Bluewell Improvement Association, said the group will be selling note cards and prints depicting several Bluewell and Brushfork landmarks.

“These were all done by Larry Akers,” Crane said. “These are landmarks from the area a lot of us remember. Some of these buildings are no longer there. We think these will be great stocking stuffers for people.”

Crane said the cards will depict Pinnacle Rock, the old Warden’s Market, Lynn’s Drive Inn, the waterfall at Woodlawn Cemetery, and the Skyway Drive-In styled for Christmas.

“We are selling 15 cards to a pack for $10 to benefit the Christmas lights in Bluewell and Brushfork as well as the restoration of the waterfall and park at Woodlawn,” Crane said.

The cards will be available the Alabaster Book Store and Brown Sack Creations in Brushfork as well as the Bluewell Family Pharmacy,  First Community Bank and New Peoples Bank in Bluewell.
