Man faces 15 counts related to child porn

PRINCETON — A Princeton man was arraigned Friday on 15 counts of receiving and possessing material visually portraying a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct.

Charles Lawrence, age unavailable, was arrested Thursday evening by Detective Cpl. S.A. Sommers of the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department and an investigator with the W.Va. Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force after they executed a search warrant.

Sommers was assisted in the investigation by other deputies and ICAC investigators from the West Virginia State Police.

Sommers said authorities seized two computers, multiple USB hard drives and 800 CDs and DVDs.

Lawrence was arraigned Friday in Princeton by Magistrate Jim Dent, who set bond at $25,000. Lawrence is being held at the Southern Regional Jail.

The search warrant was a product of a combined investigative effort between the W.Va. Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and the Southern Virginia Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
