Deputy arrests Va. man who drove into crash reconstruction

BRUSHFORK — A Tazewell County man was arrested on a charge of DUI-drugs Friday afternoon after he drove into the site where the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department and a West Virginia State Police crash reconstruction crew was examining the scene of a crash that resulted in the deaths of two young girls.

Robbie Woods, 28, of Tazewell, Va., was arrested on a charge of DUI-drug, according to Lt. J.E. Parks of the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department.

“We were just finishing up the crash scene investigation when an individual drove into the intersection where we were standing,” Parks said. “The driver was acting suspicious, so I walked over to him and asked what he was doing.

“He said he was dropping someone off,” Parks said. During his investigation, Parks learned that the suspect had just injected narcotics into his arm, prompting him to make the arrest.
