A husband and wife facing multiple charges of sexual abuse and other offenses were arrested Friday in McDowell County.
Frankie Ward, 45, of Yukon was arrested Friday on charges including seven counts of sexual abuse by a parent, guardian or custodian; 180 counts of delivery of a controlled substance to a minor; and 187 counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, according to a statement issued by the West Virginia State Police detachment in Welch.
Molly Ward, no age available, of Yukon was arrested and charged with six counts of sexual abuse by a parent, guardian or custodian, and 180 counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
The victim of the alleged acts, which happened between April 1, 2013 and April 7 this year, was a female juvenile under the age of 16 that was in the suspects’ care, according to investigators.
Frankie Ward allegedly provided the juvenile with marijuana consistently for one year, and both Frankie and Molly Ward would use the drug with the juvenile in their home, according to investigators.
In another part of the case, Frankie Ward allegedly simulated a sex act with the juvenile, the troopers added.
Magistrate Danny Mitchell set bond at $100,000 in each case, and both were later released on bond.
Both Frankie and Molly Ward were awaiting arraignment Friday afternoon. The investigation is being conducted by Senior Trooper J.K. Weiss. Cpl. B.J. Garretson and Trooper J.C. Mann arrested the suspects.
