Bluefield Daily Telegraph

GRUNDY, Va. —  The National Weather Service in Blacksburg, Va. has issued a flash flood warning until 1:45 p.m. today for Buchanan County and southeastern McDowell County. And a flood advisory is in effect for Tazewell County.

According to the warning, excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, country roads, as well as farm land along the banks of creeks and streams.

Motorists are urged not to do not drive their vehicle into areas where the water covers the roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross safely, according to forecasters. Residents in impacted areas are urged to move to higher ground.
