Planned water outage announced for Spanishburg area, parts of Lashmeet and Kegley

Bluefield Daily Telegraph

PRINCETON — Approximately 350 West Virginia American Water customers in the Spanishburg area of Mercer County should expect a temporary water outage on Sunday due to water system repairs.

The water disruption will begin at 8 a.m. on Sunday and last for approximately six hours. In addition to 350 residents in the Spanishburg area, approximately 50 customers between the Lashmeet and Kegley areas will also be impacted.

According to the water company, the water outage is necessary for crews to depressurize a main water line to repair a pressure reducing valve.

A precautionary boil water advisory will follow immediately once water is restored to the areas. Customers are asked to boil any water used for drinking, cooking, bathing and brushing teeth for at least one minute in advance before using once water service is restored until the boil water advisory is lifted.
