Truck strikes and damages pharmacy in Tazewell County

RAVEN, Va. —  Rescue jacks are holding up a damaged pharmacy until contractors can arrive and stabilize the building.

The Raven Drug Store, located approximately three miles from Richlands, Va. on Route 67, was damaged this afternoon when a large wrecker hit it, said Fire Chief Keith Reynolds of Richlands Fire and Rescue.

“A large wrecker was towing a large truck off Nash Hill Rode, that’s on Route 67, and apparently it lost its brakes and went through the window of the store,” Reynolds said.

The impact demolished the storefront. Crew members were still on the scene while rescue jacks held up the walls. A contractor was in route.
