BRAMWELL — Click here to see slideshow of Boy Scouts in Bramwell:
Dozens of Boy Scouts converged on Mercer and McDowell counties Tuesday as part of the 2013 Boys Scouts of America National Jamboree Day of Service Initiative.
Troops began work on a variety of projects in both counties, including the clean up of the former lamp house in Landgraff, and replacing wrought iron fences in Bramwell.
Welch Mayor Reba Honaker was on hand to greet the Scouts as they stopped in the city of Welch before heading out to their destination.
“We are so excited to have them here,” Honaker said. “They have come here from all over the U.S. It’s amazing what they have already accomplished in the short time they’ve been here.”
