Princeton troopers arrest six sex offenders in round-up

PRINCETON — State troopers of the Princeton Detachment of the West Virginia State Police are in the process of arresting Mercer County sex offenders who have failed to comply with the reporting requirements of the state sex offender registry.

During the past two days, troopers arrested six offenders on a variety of violations. “We arrested one subject on a charge of failing to provide change of address information,” Cpl. J.C. Long of the state police said. “We arrested another suspect on a charge of failing to notify us about getting a job in the county.”

On Wednesday, troopers arrested Roscoe Mack Barber, 59, and Ricky Ricardo Cuthbertson, 37, both of Bluefield, although Cuthbertson has recently moved out of the state.

Troopers arrested four more sex offenders on Thursday including Richard Lee Pettrey, 25, of Princeton, Gerald Bishop Wickline, 71, a Raleigh County resident who works in Mercer County, Richard Bailey, 48, of Princeton and William Asbury, age unavailable, who recently moved into Mercer County.

“We have been in contact with three other subjects and we expect them to turn themselves in (today),” Long said. The three additional subjects include Patricia Elane Tiller Hazelwood, 44, of Princeton, Robert Matthew Dunn, 42, of Peterstown and Dennis Howard Taylor, 31, of Princeton.

In addition to Long, Cpl. M.A. Smith, and Troopers J.A. Cook and L. Keaveney, all of the Princeton Detachment, West Virginia State Police, participated in the round-up.
